Lori Lovejoy Fletcher has been making photographs since the magic of the darkroom lured her in during her high school days in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. She went on to study Studio Art and Dance at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. After graduating, Lori traveled cross country to live in Seattle for a few years and explore and photograph the other side of the country. When New York called her home, she started working as a photographer’s assistant and photo shoot director in the art department of a fashion company. She went on to spend a summer working as a teacher’s assistant at the Maine Photographic Workshops, and later as a large format print specialist at the International Center for Photography. She also worked for many years as a freelance photographer shooting still life and product photography.
Lori currently lives in the Hudson Valley where she is focusing on her personal fine art photography. The river, the valley and her home are the subjects that continuously play a role in her work. Her photographs speak to themes of magic, mystery, memory, love and loss. Themes that are both personal to her, yet universal to all.
